My advice

What the numbers don't say about Pattaya

Pattaya is one of the driest beach destinations in Thailand. Even in the rainy season showers are short, and only September and October are really wet. It is a good fallback when the Andaman coast is rainy. The sea is calm most of the year, and the nearby island of Koh Larn is reachable in all seasons.
