Sunrise Beach runs along the east coast, with views across to the jungle-covered Koh Adang and good snorkelling spots nearby. It has a mix of bungalows and mid-range resorts and feels more spacious than Pattaya Beach. The northern end is quieter; the southern end connects to Walking Street. During the north-east monsoon (roughly November to January) this side can get wind and waves, and seaweed or debris can wash up.

Sunset Beach is a small cove on the north-west of the island, reached by a footpath through the interior, about 15–20 minutes from Walking Street. It has only a few places to stay and eat, so it stays peaceful even in high season. As the name says, it is the best spot for sunset. The beach is small and partly rocky, less suited to long swims than Pattaya or Sunrise.

Walking Street is the pedestrian lane connecting Pattaya Beach and Sunrise Beach, lined with restaurants, cafés, dive shops, massage shops, minimarkets and ATMs. Staying in or just off it gives the cheapest rooms on the island and everything on your doorstep, with both main beaches a few minutes' walk away. Rooms are usually without sea views, and the lane is busy until late.
