Which AirAsia routes are back at Suvarnabhumi?

Thai AirAsia restarted domestic flights from Suvarnabhumi on 1 October 2026, according to the Bangkok Post. The airline had suspended them from 15 July to 30 September 2026, citing sharply higher aviation fuel costs and softer mid-year travel demand, and moved the flights to Don Mueang.

What changes for your trip?

Bangkok now has two departure airports for these three cities. Travellers arriving on international flights at Suvarnabhumi can connect straight to Chiang Mai, Phuket or Krabi without crossing the city to Don Mueang. Compare the transfer options in our Suvarnabhumi Airport guide and the routes to Chiang Mai, Phuket and Krabi.

Thai AirAsia plans up to 135 domestic flights a day between October and December 2026, and from 25 October 2026 Phuket also gains direct services to Khon Kaen and Udon Thani.

Don Mueang remains the airline's main Bangkok base, with 22 domestic destinations; the other suspended Suvarnabhumi routes, including Chiang Rai, Hat Yai and Udon Thani, have not returned.
